From January 2021-May 2021, I served as a marketing intern at The Well Collective in Columbia, South Carolina.
Now, rebranded as As Well As, the collective is a combination of:
- a plant-based, organic cafe
- an infrared fitness studio (Studio Fire)
- a boutique promoting small + women-owned brands
- and an uplifting community
Marketing Internship Duties
My primary responsibility was co-managing the business's Instagram account from January to May of 2021, where I strategized, wrote, and scheduled a wide variety of content on the behalf of the business's image.
My goal was to amplify the aesthetic of both The Well Collective and Studio Fire and use it to draw like-minded people to our door. Better yet, I used that reach to intrigue the less obvious prospects enough to stop in for an oat milk latte, many of whom returning with a yoga mat in hand the next time they stopped by.
Social Media Responsibilities:
- Product, client, and space photography
- Adobe Lightroom editing
- Caption copywriting
- User engagement (direct message, comments, algorithmic optimization)
- Event promotion (i.e. "Manifest Retreat" to the Dominican Republic and the "Sweat for your Philanthropy" charitable 6-week event to bring sorority women of the University of South Carolina to the business)
- Apparel modeling (several Stories daily)
Other Duties:
As an English major, I spearheaded monthly newsletters, email campaigns, and cohesive customer outreach and engagement projects.
