SCHC: Senior Thesis

My final project to graduate from the #1 Public Honors College in the United States was writing a book.

Well, writing, designing, creating, and defending the exigence of said book.

What is Hear Me Out?

Hear Me Out is a unconventional compilations of analogies designed to help shock the reader into removing themselves from an otherwise emotionally-muddled situation.

Its chapters were born out of a dire need to shake common sense into the people that I loved. Only five years later did a beneficiary of one chapter shake the idea of their potential into me.

My personal project soon began to blur with academia as I sought to fill a niche that was so lacking for my generation, and thus, Hear Me Out received an accompanying 58 page essay defending its exigence to the South Carolina Honors College.

The Journey

Composed of three overarching main parts and an epilogue, Hear Me Out takes the reader on a dive down to the deep parts of one's character and back up again to the surface.

The Parts are as follows, with three chapters each.

Part I: The Dive

How to realize the truth and use it to avoid hurting yourself and others

Part II: The Abyss

How to confront and accept the reality of things to move past them

Part III: The Ascent

How to surrender to the flow when things may not change.

Epilogue: Above the Surface

A heavier but heartfelt reflection of what it is like to have broken the surface of one's situation
